Short Mat Autumn Tournament

The Short Mat section of the Bowling Club held their Autumn Tournament on Sunday 5th October.  Twelve teams took part and everyone had an enjoyable day.

The winners were the Bere Alston team of Liz Percival, Tom Percival,  Jack Hurdon and George Blackburn (the latter being a member of The Tavistock club who stepped in at the last minute as Bere Alston were one player short).  The runners-up were Bow.

Thanks to all those members who helped make the Tournament such a great success.

Charity Cheque

image1The Ladies’ Captain, Anne Brown, presented a cheque for £600 to Lesley-Ann Simpson of the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer.  The money had been raised during the 2014 Bowls season with the proceeds of raffles held during the ladies’ matches, the Club’s Charity Day and ‘fines’ instigated during the Club’s recent tour to Weymouth.
