As part of the Sensory Garden’s Open Afternoon on Sunday, visitors were also invited to have a go at playing bowls. Organisers of the event used the Clubhouse to serve tea and cakes. It was a very successful afternoon and well supported by members of the public.
Pleased to announce that issues that have affected the website over the past week or so have now been fixed – all areas can now be accessed.
The annual Ladies Charity Day was held on Sunday 1 July. This year’s charity is the Tavistock Hospital League of Friends and their Chairman, Joy Harrison, and Treasurer, Christine Leach, attended the event with Joy giving an insight into what they achieve. Despite heavy rain during the morning, the skies brightened and the Green dried out just in time for play to start shortly after 2.00pm. Everyone enjoyed a lovely tea, and very generous support for the auction & raffle help to raise a considerable amount for the charity.
Around £500 was raised from a dance/social evening held in the Clubhouse on Friday 22 June, which had been organised by Brian & Angela Lamb. A great evening was had by all who attended, with dancing to music provided by The Texans and an enjoyable bring & share buffet.
