At the last session before Christmas on 21 December, Members wore festive jumpers. They took along nibbles and enjoyed the bowling & each other’s company.

The match was played on Wednesday 13th December. There were eight players in each team, ‘The Girls’ were captained by Jo Albon and ‘The Boys’ by Richard Thorne.
The first half saw ‘The Girls’ rinks, skipped by Jo and Sandra, stop for tea with a nine-shot lead over ‘The Boys’, skipped by Bill and Richard.
The second half, despite a change of mats (that did nothing to help ‘The Boys’), saw ‘The Girls’ maintain their advantage and win overall by 40 shots to 31.
The match was played in very good spirit with ‘The Boys’ taking their defeat in good grace despite some slightly smug looks from ‘The Girls’.
Thanks were given to Brian Davis for his help with umpiring duties and the occasional need to keep one or two of ‘The Boys’ in order!
A cheque for £600 was presented to Tavistock Area Support Services (TASS) at the Club’s Coffee Morning on Saturday 2 December. The money had been raised by a charitable event held on the Closing Day of the Green in September. The Club Chairman, Sue Silcox, presented the cheque to Bernice Edgar, TASS’s Transport Co-ordinator, and Holly Stirling, TASS’s General Manager.
