STOP PRESS ………………… The Club Extension is now complete!!
Following agreement of a grant of £50,000 from the Olympic legacy funding from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund, the Club was in a position to commence work on an extension to its existing clubhouse in May 2013. Additional funding for the project was provided by Devon County Council, West Devon Borough Council, Tavistock Town Council, Bowls England together with members and friends of the Club.
The extension will enable the short mat bowls players to transfer their activities to the club together with provision for a skittle alley and darts. The aim is to provide a multi-sports and social events facility for all age groups in the locality.
Work started in June 2013 with completion of the building by the end of the year. Internal fitting-out and external finishing of the patio saw the extension finished by mid February
This page chronicles the building through its various stages.
The contractor for the initial part of the project is O’Mahoney Construction Limited supported by carpentry firm, McCartney & Co, and electrical contractor, R Jenkins.
