Outdoor Green Closing Day 2025

Unfortunately, persistent heavy rain during the morning rendered the Green unplayable for the final game of the season on Saturday 20 September. However, after a later start than normal, Members and guests enjoyed a very sociable afternoon in the Clubhouse. Luckily, the skies cleared in time for the barbeque to be fired up and a wonderful spread was prepared for those in attendance. Two events were celebrated during the event. Firstly, in honour of long-standing Club Member Norman Paramor’s 90th birthday, a lovely cake had been made which was shared with those present. Secondly, in memory of former Club Member and Bar Manager, Charles (Chas) Carter, a plaque was presented to his widow, Brenda – the plaque will be placed above the bar naming it Chas’s Bar. Pictured below are Norman cutting his cake and Brenda receiving the plaque from the Club’s Vice Chairman, Tony Smith.
