Mixed League Champions!

Congratulations to all those who played in the Mixed League matches during 2026. It has now been confirmed that the Club are the League winners! It was a nail-biting finish as Tavistock waited for results from other Clubs to come in. However, in the end, and after playing 13 games, Tavistock came out top with 40 points – they actually won the most games (10) and lost the least games (2)!

Mixed Lge Table Final

Plymouth & District Mens Bowling League Mixed Lge Table 1/8

Closing Day of The Green

The end of season game looked in doubt as the forecast was giving a wet afternoon. Luckily, the rain turned out to be fairly light for most of the time and those present managed to play a triples competition. After the game, players were joined by family members and enjoyed a barbecue.

Great Success for Ladies Pairs!

Congratulations to Margaret Davies and Brenda Carter who made it through to the semi-final of the Devon County Over 70’s Pairs Competition. Having qualified as winners of Section 7 in this competition, they went on to win the quarter final against two ladies from South Molton Bowling Club.

In the semi-final, they travelled to a neutral green – Abbrook Park Bowling Club in Kingsteignton – playing two ladies from Chardstock Bowling Club. Sadly, they lost in the semi-final with a score of 17-16.

This is the first time that any of our ladies have qualified as winners in Section 7 competitions since 2019.

Zingy Zinnias!

The Zinnias put on a wonderful display for the final day of the John Timmins Triples League. Once again, thanks to all on the ‘gardening team’ for such wonderful displays this year, despite all the challenges of five heatwaves! The bees certainly appreciate the hard work too!

Mixed League

Currently, the Club lies second in the Mixed League table, two points behind Ivybridge but with two games in hand and holding the highest points difference. There are still nine games to play but, hopefully, the strong start can be maintained.

Bloomin’ Lovely!

Thanks to the volunteer gardeners at the Club, the outside area is looking very colourful! Planters have been placed on the patio area and the grounds around the Clubhouse have been greatly improved. Congratulations to all those involved!

Bowls Club Winter Break

Members of the Club enjoyed a mid-week winter break at the end of January. The venue was the Dorset Bowls Resort near Bere Regis. The trip was a great success with plenty of games played on the indoor bowling rink. Pictures show the members who took part along with some of the prize winners.
